Instructions
- Read the summary of Jean Anyon's article titled “Social Class and the Hidden Curriculum of Work.”
- Read all of the descriptions in “Which Type of School.” Work with a partner to identify which of the four types of schools listed at the top matches each description.
- In small groups, discuss the following questions:
- What type of school did you go to?
- What type of school do you teach in?
- Who benefits most from the different types of practices described?
- What practices do you morally think are best for students?
Be prepared to report conclusions from your group’s discussion to the whole class.
