HW 1.3: Worksheet - Interactive Glossary

Purpose: The purpose of this glossary is to help you develop personal understanding of vocabulary. This glossary is interactive. It supports you as a language learner by requiring that you construct your own meanings for words based on the context clues form where they are used and by providing you space to construct your own personal definitions of vocabulary you will use as a teacher of language minority students. In your own classroom, you could assign students to use this glossary format in conjunction with the index from their textbook. The index would lead them to places where the text are used in context.

Directions: The Context column is an alphabetic list of the cultural terms you should come to understand from the readings. The Meaning Making column provides a space for you to write the definition of the concept or term listed in the Context column which you create from studying the way the word is used in context.
