This manual is written in response to the United Nations level four goal to teach human rights to children and youth. The beginnings of human rights lie in recognizing the dignity of all people and treating all people with respect. We assert that young adults are good teachers and role models for younger peers, and through this manual, youth will mentor youth. The discussion format allows class members to share experiences and discuss issues that are relevant to their own communities. Wherever the discussion leads, the guiding principles and main ideas of each lessons come from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and should be taught with clarity.
