Dr. Cengiz Hakan AYDIN is a Full Professor at the Distance Education Department of Anadolu University’s Open Education Faculty, where he studies designing and implementing open, flexible, quality learning opportunities for large and diverse groups via traditional and modern technologies. Currently, he is interested in AI in open and distance learning, OERs and MOOCs.
Svenja Bedenlier
Svenja Bedenlier is an Assistant Professor of E-Learning in Higher and Adult Education at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nuremberg (Germany). She obtained her PhD at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg (Germany) where she also worked as a research associate in the field of educational technology.
Melissa Bond
Dr Melissa Bond is a Lecturer in Digital Technology Education at the Centre for Change and Complexity in Learning (University of South Australia) and is a member of the Center for Open Education Research. She also provides methodological and technical support to researchers using evidence synthesis software EPPI-Reviewer for the EPPI-Centre at University College London. Her research focuses on student engagement and digital learning, international research collaboration, the uses of AI in education, as well as the doctoral education experiences of mothers.
Aras Bozkurt
Aras Bozkurt is a researcher and faculty member in the Department of Distance Education, Open Education Faculty at Anadolu University, Turkey. He holds MA and PhD degrees in distance education. Dr. Bozkurt conducts empirical studies on distance education, open and distance learning, online learning, networked learning, and educational technology to which he applies various critical theories, such as connectivism, rhizomatic learning, and heutagogy. Dr. Dianne Conrad is a long-time adult and Distance Educator with expertise in prior learning, assessment, and all aspects of open and online learning. Now retired from Athabasca University, she continues to research, publish, and take on projects of interest.

Insung Jung formerly was a Professor of International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan. Yasar Kondakci
Yasar Kondakci is a Professor in Educational Administration at the Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey. His research focuses on higher education, change, and development in educational organizations, educational leadership, and social justice in education. His most recent book is Higher Education Challenges for Migrant and Refugee Students in a Global World. He is the founding editor of Higher Education Governance and Policy journal.
Victoria I. Marín
Victoria I. Marín is Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Pedagogy at the University of Lleida (Spain) and a member of the research group COMPETECS at the same university. At the time of the study, she was affiliated with the University of Oldenburg (Germany) and worked in the EduArc project. She holds a Master and PhD in Educational Technology from the University of the Balearic Islands (Spain).

Paul Prinsloo is a Research Professor in Open and Distance Learning in the Department of Business Management at the University of South Africa. His research focuses on distance, distance and distributed learning, student success and retention, postgraduate supervision as well as ethical and privacy implications of the collection, analysis, and use of student data.
Jennifer Roberts
Jennifer Roberts is an Associate Professor at the Open Distance Learning Research Unit in the College of Education at the University of South Africa. Her research publications focus on distance educations staff development and capacity building, and ODL research analyses within developing countries. Her current research centers on cooperative learning and social presences in online learning.
George Veletsianos
Dr. George Veletsianos is Professor and Canada Research Chair in Innovative Learning and Technology at Royal Roads University. His research focuses on three strands: (1) design, development, and evaluation of online and blended learning environments, (2) the study of learning experiences and participation in emerging online environments, and (3) learning futures.

Olaf Zawacki-Richter
Olaf Zawacki-Richter is a Professor of Educational Technology at the University of Oldenburg in Germany. He is the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences and Director of the Center for Open Education Research (COER). Olaf has over 25 years of professional experience in the field of open, distance, and digital education. He has also served as a consultant and advisor, including work for the United Nations' International Labour Organization, the Office of Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag, and the German Science and Humanities Council (Wissenschaftsrat).
Jingjing Zhang
Jingjing Zhang is Professor of Educational Technology at Beijing Normal University, where she directs the Big Data Centre for Technology-mediated Education. Dr. Zhang’s current work focuses on developing data mining techniques (e.g. network analytics) to explore human relationships and activities online.
