As a User Experience Designer for the Center for Academic Innovation, Nathan specifically focuses on projects pertaining to online learning and new residential learning tools. His daily work involves researching how people are using the applications the Center creates and gathering feedback on them, designing new pages and features, and writing frontend code (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) to bring his designs to life. He also contributes to the professional growth of Academic Innovation student fellows by coordinating and delivering design and frontend development workshops. Before coming to Academic Innovation as a full-time staff member, Nathan worked for a summer as an Academic Innovation student fellow on the User Experience Design team. Prior to that, he designed websites and print materials for the University of Michigan College of Engineering and taught English in South Korea.
