Dr. Ben Andera is the Executive Director of Academic and Research Computing at Central Michigan University. In his professional role, Dr. Andera oversees multiple teams supporting academic and research computing for the university. He directly oversees and manages the full life cycle of systems, applications, hardware, and staff. He works with the academic college leadership to continue expanding support for academic and research technologies and redesigning IT service delivery across the CMU campus. Central to this role is building positive and collaborative relationships among IT units and academic colleges. He is also an adjunct faculty in the Business Information Systems department and loves to share his 20-plus years of experience with students. His research interests include the role of CIOs in higher education, bridging the digital divide, HyFlex, AI, and the future of technology in education.
