Sai Gattupalli

Sai Gattupalli is a PhD candidate in STEM Learning Technologies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, working within the Advanced Learning Technologies Lab. Sai co-developed Wearable Learning, an innovative platform merging embodied gaming with math education to enhance computational thinking and problem-solving skills in K12 students. His work extends to two pivotal math literacy projects, Usable Math and MathSpring, designed to foster math problem-solving abilities in learners from elementary to adult education. Sai’s research ambitiously intersects educational games, intelligent tutoring systems, and prompt engineering, emphasizing equitable STEM education. Project Badi, his non-profit initiative, reflects his commitment to social responsibility, having supported over 820 children in rural Indian communities by providing essential educational resources. Sai’s scholarly contributions include significant publications and active participation in discussions about AI's future in education, notably at the NSF Personalized Adventures in Learning (PAL) Workshop and AIED 2023. Aiming to advance AI literacy, Sai is dedicated to the responsible integration of AI in learning environments worldwide, focusing on its impact on cultural identity, computational thinking, and prompt literacy in educational settings.
