An instructional designer at SUNY Broome Community College in upstate New York, Robert Becker is also an instructor in the fields of Music and History with close to four decades of experience. Working with a wide variety of learners both privately and in higher education, he has always sought out innovations and explored the potential of technology to augment the educational experience. His asynchronous guitar course was the first fully online musical instrument course in the SUNY system, having launched in 2016. Since then he has turned his attention to the possibilities offered by the HyFlex model, and launched the Hyflex version of his course in 2021. In all of his professional endeavors, Robert makes a point of seeking out meaningful innovations and generating organic conversations on how we can use technology to help both ourselves, and most importantly, our learners.
