Unlike in English, days of the week are not capitalized in Spanish, nor are the months of the year. To say, “on Monday”, use the definite article, not the preposition:

¿Cuál es la fecha (de hoy)? – What is the date? Or What is today’s date?
Hoy es el uno (primero) de octubre. – Today is October 1. Note: In Spain, the cardinal number “uno” is used for the first of the month. In Latin America, the ordinal number “primero” is often used for the first of the month, but cardinal numbers are used for the rest of the dates.
Hoy es el trece de septiembre. – Today is September 13.
Most calendars in the Spanish speaking world start on Monday, not Sunday.
Remember that dates are written in this order: day + month + year, so 5/6/2022 is June 5, 2022.
