Ojo: When the verb root’s ending vowel is a, e, o, you will need to add an accent on the i of the ending so that it does not form a diphthong with those vowels. (See leer, creer, oír, caer, and poseer above.) The u does not form a diphthong with the i, so you do not need accents with verbs like construir or contribuir.
